Belgian midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne has officially joined Serie A side Napoli, where he will continue his career under the management of Antonio Conte.
Napoli announced the signing on Thursday, June 12, 2025, shortly after De Bruyne's contract with Manchester City came to an end. The 33-year-old had been linked with several Premier League clubs and was also reportedly a target for teams in Major League Soccer. Ultimately, he opted to embark on a new chapter in Italy with Napoli.
Personal terms between the two parties were agreed upon on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. The following day, Napoli officially unveiled De Bruyne as part of their squad.
The club introduced their new signing across various social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), featuring two images of De Bruyne accompanied by messages of pride and excitement.
"Kevin is proud to be one of us," read Napoli’s first post.
Another post featured an illustration of De Bruyne portrayed as a king on a throne, captioned: "King Kev is here."
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis also welcomed the new addition with a photo of himself shaking hands with De Bruyne, posting a short message on X: “Welcome, Kevin.”
While the club has yet to officially confirm the length of De Bruyne's contract, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the deal spans two years, with an option for a one-year extension.
Under Conte’s leadership, De Bruyne will join a growing list of former Premier League stars at Napoli, including former Manchester United duo Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay, as well as ex-Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.
