Douglas Luiz is no longer part of Juventus’ plans for the 2025/26 season. The Brazilian midfielder is set to leave the Turin-based club after just one year, following his move from Aston Villa.
His debut season in Serie A has been underwhelming. Luiz made only 19 appearances, with just three starts in league matches. As a result, Juventus are now open to parting ways with the 26-year-old and are willing to consider loan offers that include a purchase option.
Several Premier League clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation, although no formal bids have been submitted to date.
Juventus signed Luiz in the summer of 2024 for a reported €50 million fee. However, his performances have failed to meet expectations, particularly under the club’s new head coach. He has struggled for game time and has been unable to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.
With Luiz no longer in their long-term plans, Juventus are actively seeking potential suitors. According to Calciomercato, the club is prepared to sell the midfielder for around €40 million significantly less than the amount they paid a year ago.
The Bianconeri are also open to a loan arrangement, provided it includes an obligation to buy at the end of the term. This structure could be appealing to Premier League sides looking to reinforce their midfield without committing to an immediate full transfer.
Juventus hope this flexible approach will accelerate negotiations and facilitate Luiz’s departure in the current transfer window.
