Harvey Elliott is reportedly set to depart Liverpool during the upcoming summer transfer window in pursuit of more consistent first-team opportunities.
The young English midfielder is believed to be seeking a fresh challenge, feeling that the time is right for him to further his development elsewhere. Under new head coach Arne Slot, Elliott’s chances of regular playing time have become increasingly limited.
Last season, Elliott started just twice in the Premier League, making the majority of his appearances from the bench. However, his impressive performances with England's U-21 national team have reignited interest in his potential.
Several Premier League clubs are said to be closely monitoring Elliott’s situation, with his exit now appearing to be only a matter of final agreement between the player and the club.
Since arriving from Fulham in 2019, Elliott has made 147 appearances for Liverpool and has collected six major trophies. Nevertheless, he now appears to acknowledge that his role in the current squad is no longer guaranteed.
With Arne Slot at the helm, Elliott’s position within the starting XI has become increasingly uncertain a key factor motivating his desire to explore opportunities elsewhere.
Although his contract with Liverpool runs until 2027, mounting pressure to secure regular playing time has made his departure seem inevitable.
Premier League sides including Brighton, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the chase for his signature. Meanwhile, Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also keeping a close eye on the situation following Elliott’s standout performances at the U-21 European Championship.
Former Manchester United and Blackburn scout Mick Brown believes Elliott’s exit is imminent. “Harvey Elliott will leave Liverpool that’s a certainty. Now, it’s just a matter of where he goes,” Brown told Football Insider.
