Inter Milan are actively seeking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the upcoming season, with Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku emerging as a potential target.
The interest from Inter was first reported by renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who revealed that the Italian club is considering a move for the French international to add more depth and versatility to their front line.
Currently, Inter are undergoing a reshuffle in their attacking department. Veterans Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic have departed following the expiration of their contracts, leaving notable gaps in the squad.
Under head coach Simone Inzaghi, Inter traditionally operate with a two-striker system. With the recent departures, the club is now in need of fresh talent to fit into its offensive structure.
The exits of Correa and Arnautovic have created opportunities for new forwards to join the team and become part of Inter’s long-term project. In addition, Mehdi Taremi could also leave if the club receives a suitable offer, further accelerating the search for reinforcements.
Nkunku has reportedly been identified as a versatile attacking option. Known for his ability to play both as a striker and an attacking midfielder, the Frenchman’s flexibility is seen as a strong fit for the tactical approach of assistant coach Cristian Chivu.
Nkunku enjoyed an impressive 2024/2025 season with Chelsea, registering 15 goals and 5 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions. His dynamic presence and technical ability make him an appealing option for Inter as they look to rebuild their attack.
