Francesco Camarda, the highly regarded young talent from AC Milan’s academy, has officially joined fellow Serie A club Lecce on a season-long loan.
The 17 year old striker moves on a temporary deal that includes an option for Lecce to make the transfer permanent, while AC Milan has secured a buy-back clause to retain long-term control over the player’s future.
Lecce confirmed the signing on the evening of Monday, July 7, 2025, following Camarda’s successful medical examination on Sunday and the completion of all administrative procedures.
Camarda rose to prominence thanks to his extraordinary record at youth level, where he scored an astonishing 485 goals in just 89 appearances for Milan's junior teams earning him the label of "prodigy" from numerous Italian media outlets.
Despite making his Serie A debut last season, Camarda accumulated only 199 minutes of playing time, a figure deemed insufficient to fully develop his immense potential.
The loan move to Lecce is expected to provide him with more consistent opportunities at the highest level of Italian football, aiding his progression into a top-tier professional.
Lecce, currently rebuilding their squad to remain competitive in Serie A, have made Camarda their second signing of the summer transfer window. The club previously secured the services of Christ-Owen Kouassi from French side Stade Lavallois.
Although Lecce hold the option to sign Camarda permanently at the end of the season, Milan’s inclusion of a buy-back clause ensures they can bring him back to San Siro should he fulfill his promise.
Given his young age and remarkable potential, Camarda’s development at Lecce this season will be closely watched not only by fans of both clubs but also by Italian football supporters hopeful of witnessing the rise of a future Gli Azzurri star.
