Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is reportedly on the verge of returning to Chelsea following an impressive season with Borussia Dortmund.
According to renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is close to finalizing a deal to bring Bynoe-Gittens back to West London. In a recent update shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account, Romano stated that negotiations between Chelsea and Dortmund are progressing well.
German outlet Bulinews further reported that a special meeting took place on Monday, June 22, between representatives of both clubs to discuss the winger’s potential transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea is said to be offering Bynoe-Gittens a long-term contract spanning seven years, which would keep the England youth international at the club until 2032.
This move marks a return to familiar ground for Bynoe-Gittens. Prior to his stints with Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, the young forward spent a season with Chelsea’s youth academy, making the Blues no strangers to his development.
Last season, Bynoe-Gittens enjoyed a breakout campaign in the Bundesliga, registering eight goals and four assists in 32 appearances. His performances played a crucial role in helping Dortmund climb from mid-table to a top-four finish, securing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
