Igor Tudor has been relieved of his duties as head coach of Juventus’ first team following a string of disappointing results over the past month.
“Juventus announces today that Igor Tudor has been released from his position as head coach of the men’s first team, along with his staff members Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic, and Riccardo Ragnacci,” the club stated on Monday.
“The club would like to thank Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months, and we wish them all the best in their future careers.”
Tudor, a former Juventus player and assistant to Andrea Pirlo during the 2020–2021 season, was appointed in March to replace Thiago Motta. He guided the Bianconeri to a top-four Serie A finish and a Champions League qualification last season.
This campaign started on a positive note, with Juventus winning their first three Serie A matches, including a thrilling 4–3 victory over Inter Milan. However, the momentum quickly faded as the team failed to secure a win in their next eight games and went scoreless in the last four.
The situation worsened after the international break, with three consecutive defeats to Como, Real Madrid, and Lazio. The loss to Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday appeared to be the final straw for the club’s management.
Juventus have yet to announce a permanent replacement, but NextGen coach Massimo Brambilla has been appointed as caretaker for the upcoming match against Udinese on Thursday early morning local time.
