Atletico Madrid are heading to North London with high ambitions as they prepare to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The Spanish side are determined to silence the in-form Gunners in what promises to be a thrilling Champions League clash.
Set for Wednesday in the early hours WIB, the Matchday 3 encounter sees Atletico looking to build on their mixed start having lost to Liverpool but bouncing back with a win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have made a flawless start to their campaign, defeating both Athletic Bilbao and Olympiakos. Mikel Arteta’s team are currently unbeaten since late August and have won five straight matches across all competitions, dropping points just once in their last eight outings.
Atletico know full well the challenge that awaits them in London, but they're not making the trip to play it safe. They’re coming with purpose and belief.
“We’re coming in with the mindset to deliver a strong performance and secure a win, which we need especially away from home and in the Champions League,” said Atletico manager Diego Simeone.
“We want to approach tomorrow’s match with the right level of intensity,” he added.
