Tough luck continues for Juventus defender Gleison Bremer. Just as he was getting back on track after recovering from a ligament injury, he's now set for another spell on the sidelines this time with a meniscus issue in the same knee.
According to Football Italia, Bremer is dealing with a problem in the meniscus of his left knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days to address it.
“Gleison underwent a medical consultation with Dr. Sonnery-Cottet in Lyon this morning, which confirmed an issue with the meniscus in his left knee,” Juventus said in an official statement.
“He is scheduled to undergo surgery in the next few hours.”
Fortunately, the recovery timeline isn’t expected to be too long. The Brazilian center-back is likely to return to action after the international break in November. In the meantime, Daniele Rugani is expected to step in as his replacement.
This latest setback is particularly frustrating for Bremer, who only recently returned from an ACL injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. That injury occurred during Juventus' match against RB Leipzig back in October.
Bremer made his comeback in the opening week of the current Serie A season but has been on the bench for the past two games prior to this month's international break.
