AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala has reportedly rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, opting instead to prioritize participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
According to Argentine outlet TyC Sports, the former Palermo and Juventus star declined a proposal worth approximately $10 million (around Rp189 billion) from Al Hilal. The offer was for a short-term contract intended specifically for the Club World Cup, where Al Hilal will compete.
The staggering sum is particularly notable given the short duration of the contract and the limited number of matches involved—potentially as few as three, should Al Hilal be eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
Despite AS Roma not qualifying for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Dybala still chose to stay with the Italian capital club, once again demonstrating his commitment to the Giallorossi, rivals to city neighbors Lazio.
Dybala remains under contract with AS Roma until 2026. During his first press conference as Roma head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini expressed optimism about the Argentine’s role in the upcoming 2025/26 season.
“Dybala? I hope he’s well and in good condition. Everyone must work together regardless of individual personalities,” said Gasperini.
“If we can improve individual performance levels, the whole team will benefit. There’s no player who can’t adapt to the playing style I want to implement,” he added.
