Juventus have demonstrated serious intent in their pursuit of Viktor Gyökeres this summer, reportedly preparing to offload up to eight players in order to finance a move for the Sporting Lisbon striker.
Gyökeres has become one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe following a stellar campaign last season. The Swedish international consistently found the back of the net, drawing interest from several top clubs across the continent.
Under new head coach Igor Tudor, Juventus are aiming to bolster their attacking options, and the club sees Gyökeres as a key piece to elevate their competitiveness for the upcoming season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Bianconeri are preparing a bold strategy to secure the 26-year-old's signature, including a significant squad overhaul. Juventus are reportedly planning a major clear-out, with eight players potentially being sold to raise the necessary funds.
The primary challenge for Juventus lies in the financial aspect of the transfer. Sporting Lisbon have set a hefty price tag of €85 million for their prolific frontman an amount that exceeds Juventus’ current budget, especially with other key transfer targets also in sight.
To meet this valuation, Juventus are considering the sale of several players. Among the most notable names are Dušan Vlahović, Douglas Luiz, and Lloyd Kelly players who are reportedly not part of Tudor’s long-term plans and whose transfers could generate substantial revenue.
In addition to those three, Juventus are also expected to listen to offers for Arkadiusz Milik, Filip Kostić, Mattia Perin, Daniele Rugani, and Samuel Mbangula. While these players may not command as high a fee, their departures could still contribute meaningfully to the club’s transfer fund.
By restructuring the squad and monetizing assets, Juventus hope to gather enough resources to meet Sporting Lisbon’s demands and bring Viktor Gyökeres to Turin.
