Juventus head coach Igor Tudor expressed his dissatisfaction with his team’s performance, despite their dramatic 4-3 win over Inter Milan. According to him, the Bianconeri failed to properly execute the tactical plan laid out for the match.
The thrilling Serie A clash took place at the Juventus Stadium on Saturday night (Sept 13, 2025). Juventus took the early lead through Lloyd Kelly, but Inter quickly responded with a goal from Hakan Calhanoglu.
Kenan Yildiz put Juve back in front, only for Inter to mount a comeback Calhanoglu added his second, and Marcus Thuram found the net to flip the scoreline. Not to be outdone, his younger brother Khephren Thuram equalized for Juventus, before Vasilijie Adzic sealed the win with a stunning long-range strike in the dying moments.
The victory puts Juventus in second place on the table with a perfect nine points from three matches, level with Napoli at the top. Inter, meanwhile, find themselves in 11th with just three points.
Still, Tudor wasn't entirely pleased. While acknowledging the result, he pointed out that his side strayed from the tactical setup, particularly when it came to pressing and positioning.
“The idea was to play a diamond midfield with Yildiz behind Vlahovic,” Tudor told Football Italia. “But we didn’t press at the right times, and when we did, it wasn’t in the way I wanted. We collapsed into the middle too quickly. Yildiz found some space behind the striker, which is promising we might build on that going forward but he drifted too wide. He needs to be closer to goal, that’s where he can really make an impact.”
He also highlighted the need to adapt based on the players at his disposal.
“We’re playing a slightly different style now because we have three central forwards. The challenge is figuring out how to get the best out of them.”
“We won today, sure but the performance wasn’t where it needs to be,” he concluded.
