Barcelona once again proved their dominance over Valencia with a stunning 6-0 victory in their latest La Liga clash.
The match, held at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in the early hours of Monday (September 15), saw Fermin Lopez, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski each bag a brace, powering Barça to an emphatic win.
This result extends Barcelona’s unbeaten run against Valencia in domestic competitions to 12 matches since the 2020/21 season 10 of which ended in wins, with the remaining two drawn.
Valencia has become something of a favorite opponent for the Catalan giants in recent encounters. Across their last three meetings, Barça has racked up a staggering 18 goals while conceding just once.
Earlier this year, Barça hammered Valencia 7-1 in La Liga, followed by a dominant 5-0 win in the 2024/25 Copa del Rey quarterfinals. Last night’s six goal performance simply added to that ruthless run.
"I’m happy with the way the team played," said Barça head coach Hansi Flick in a post-match interview with AS. "I think we showed our intentions from the very beginning. The intensity was high, and we stayed fully focused throughout the game."
"We played as a team for each other, not just with each other. That’s exactly what we wanted to see today, and the players delivered."
