Gianluigi Donnarumma is determined to make a deep run in the Champions League with his new club, Manchester City. The Italian goalkeeper, fresh off a move from Paris Saint-Germain, has signed a contract with City that will keep him at the Etihad until 2030.
One of Donnarumma’s main ambitions in Manchester is clear: lifting the Champions League trophy once again this time in City blue.
Last season, Donnarumma played a key role in helping PSG secure their first-ever Champions League title. But this year, the road to the final looks just as challenging, with tough opponents like Napoli, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen on the horizon.
"The Champions League is the ultimate prize for any footballer. The emotions you feel when you win it it's indescribable," Donnarumma told Mirror.
"We've got Napoli coming up, which will be a tough match. But honestly, every game in this competition is difficult. Napoli have a very strong squad, and I know a lot of the players there personally. Still, there’s no such thing as an easy fixture in the Champions League."
“I’m hoping we can go as far as possible. That’s one of our main goals, and I won’t hide that. Winning the Champions League with City is a dream of mine.”
“It’s definitely one of our targets. But we have to stay calm, work hard, and take it game by game. With the manager and the staff we have here, I truly believe we can go far. For now, though, it’s about staying grounded and focusing on the next match.”
