Christian Eriksen has found a new home. The Danish midfielder has officially signed with Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg.
The club announced the signing in the early hours of Thursday (Sept 11, 2025). Eriksen joins Wolfsburg on a free transfer and has signed a two-year contract that runs until 2027.
“VfL Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga – I’m really looking forward to this new adventure,” Eriksen said via the club’s official website. “I believe we can achieve something special together here. My conversations with the club’s management went very smoothly.”
“I could immediately sense that head coach Paul Simonis has a clear vision for the team and for me personally. The fact that there are a few familiar faces from the Danish national team in the squad also made Wolfsburg a very attractive option for me,” he added.
Eriksen arrives in Germany as a free agent after parting ways with Manchester United, where he spent the last three seasons.
During his time at United, he made 108 appearances, scoring 8 goals and providing 19 assists. He also helped the team win both the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.
This move marks Eriksen’s first stint in the German league. Over the course of his career, he has played in the Netherlands with Ajax, in England with Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, and Manchester United, and in Italy with Inter Milan.
