Mohamed Salah isn’t getting any younger, and Liverpool are starting to look ahead. One name that keeps popping up as a potential heir? Michael Olise.
Salah, now 33, is still going strong. His contract at Liverpool runs until the summer of 2027, and he continues to perform at the highest level playing full matches, scoring goals, and chasing a spot among the Premier League’s all-time top scorers.
But as with any player, time eventually catches up. Liverpool are well aware of that and have already begun scouting for a suitable replacement.
According to several reports from English media, Liverpool have set their sights on Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise as a possible long-term successor to Salah.
Olise came through Arsenal’s youth system and made his Premier League debut with Crystal Palace in the 2021/2022 season. During his time in England’s top flight, the French international racked up 82 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 22 assists.
In the summer of 2024, Bayern Munich signed Olise from Crystal Palace for €53 million. He made an immediate impact in his debut season, helping the club secure the Bundesliga title while contributing 20 goals and 23 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.
Olise is under contract with Bayern until the summer of 2029, and the German giants have no immediate plans to sell. Still, Liverpool are said to be keeping a close eye on his development.
