Nicolas Jackson is reportedly on the verge of joining Bayern Munich, having already reached a personal agreement with the German giants.
The Senegalese striker has emerged as one of Bayern’s top targets during this summer transfer window. Talks between the player and the Bundesliga side have been ongoing, with Jackson showing strong interest in making the move to the Allianz Arena.
According to German outlet BILD, Jackson has agreed personal terms with Bayern. The next step for the Bavarian club is to negotiate directly with Chelsea, who currently hold the striker’s contract.
Bayern are expected to propose a loan deal, rather than a permanent transfer, due to Chelsea’s steep asking price reported to be around £70 million. The loan option is seen as a more financially viable solution for the German side.
Bayern are targeting Jackson to provide competition for Harry Kane, who currently has little backup in the striker role. Jackson's performances at Chelsea where he has notched 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 appearances suggest he could be a strong alternative up front.
Although Jackson has been a key figure in Chelsea’s attack in recent seasons, his place in the squad may be under threat following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. This competition for playing time could be influencing his decision to explore a move to Bayern.
If the deal goes through, Bayern are expected to conclude their summer transfer activity. The club has already secured the signings of Luis Diaz, Jonathan Tah, and Tim Bischof earlier in the window.
