AS Roma have added another name to their squad this summer, securing the signing of Leon Bailey from Aston Villa.
The club officially announced the move on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Bailey joins Roma on a loan deal with an option to make the transfer permanent.
"Roma are pleased to announce the signing of Leon Bailey from Aston Villa. The Jamaican winger arrives on loan with an option to buy," read a statement on the club’s official website.
Bailey makes history as the first Jamaican player to ever wear the Giallorossi shirt. Born in Kingston, he moved to Europe at the age of 13 and has since played for Genk, Bayer Leverkusen, and Aston Villa.
The 28-year-old brings plenty of experience to the capital, with 377 appearances across domestic and international competitions, tallying 76 goals along the way.
Bailey becomes Roma’s sixth signing of the summer, joining Daniele Ghilardi, Evan Ferguson, Neil El Aynaoui, Devis Vasquez, and Wesley.
Reports suggest Roma are also working on a deal to bring in Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, and Bailey’s arrival is expected to play a key role in that pursuit he’s a close friend of Sancho's, which could help sway the move.
