Marcus Rashford has officially made his debut for Barcelona, and the English forward has his sights set on making history with the Catalan giants.
This summer, Rashford joined Barça on a season-long loan from Manchester United. He’s expected to bring his experience and flair to the squad throughout the upcoming campaign.
Rashford featured in his first match for Barcelona against Mallorca in La Liga. Coming off the bench to replace Ferran Torres, he played 21 minutes, though he didn’t register a goal or assist in his debut appearance.
“I want to leave a mark and make history at Barça,” Rashford told AS. “But I’m only here on loan, so I’m taking things one day at a time.”
At Barcelona, Rashford faces stiff competition in attack, especially on the left wing where Raphinha has also been performing well. Still, Rashford is open to adapting, including playing as a central striker if needed.
“I’m comfortable playing both out wide and as a No. 9,” he said. “I’m adapting to a new environment, new pace, and a different footballing style and the best place to do that is on the pitch. I’ll make mistakes, but I’ll also learn and grow from them.”
