Paris Saint-Germain isn’t done making history just yet. Head coach Luis Enrique has made it clear that the club’s next big goal is to win the UEFA Champions League back-to-back.
Following a hugely successful 2024/25 season, where PSG secured a historic treble, the Champions League trophy stands out as the most prestigious of them all. The Parisian club has long shown its ambition through heavy investments, and now it wants to match that with continued results on the pitch.
So far, only Real Madrid has managed to win the Champions League in consecutive seasons during the modern era doing it twice, in 2016/17 and 2017/18. PSG is now setting its sights on achieving a similar feat.
"The overwhelming feeling is the passion to keep making history. That’s been my main objective since I arrived here," Luis Enrique told AS. "We want to keep writing our story."
"This is a very special moment winning two Champions League titles in a row is incredibly rare. That’s what we’re aiming for."
"You know we’re a very ambitious club. We understand just how difficult this challenge is, but it’s only right to have that kind of mindset. In the end, it all comes down to us and the level we can reach," he added.
PSG will find out their path in the 2025/26 Champions League when the tournament draw takes place on August 28.
