AC Milan are closing in on a deal to bring Rasmus Hojlund to the San Siro. Manchester United are reportedly open to letting the 22 year old striker join the Rossoneri on loan.
Looking to bolster their attacking options, Milan see Hojlund who’s no stranger to Serie A thanks to his time with Atalanta as a key target for manager Massimiliano Allegri.
According to Calciomercato.com, United are willing to loan out Hojlund for a fee of €6 million, a figure Milan are prepared to meet. As part of the agreement, Milan would also cover the striker’s full net salary of €4 million per season.
There’s more: United are also said to be including a purchase option at the end of the loan, with BBC reporting that the buy-out clause could be set at around €40 million.
The move comes amid growing speculation that United are on the verge of signing RB Leipzig’s Benjamin sesko. The Slovenian forward is reportedly valued at €76.5 million, with an additional €8.5 million in performance related add ons.
With game time likely to become more limited at Old Trafford, Hojlund is open to the move in hopes of maintaining his development and getting consistent minutes. A return to Serie A could be just what he needs especially considering his previous success with Atalanta, where he scored 10 goals in a single season.
