Giovanni van Bronckhorst is reportedly in advanced discussions to join Liverpool as part of Arne Slot’s coaching staff.
Following the departure of Johnny Heitinga, who has taken up a managerial role at Ajax, Slot is in need of a new first-team assistant coach.
Former Arsenal midfielder Van Bronckhorst is now in talks to fill that role, with reports suggesting negotiations are at an advanced stage and the Dutchman is close to signing a contract.
Van Bronckhorst has been out of management since his dismissal as head coach of Besiktas in November. Prior to that, he managed Rangers, where he notably led the team to the UEFA Europa League final in 2022, ultimately falling short against Eintracht Frankfurt.
