Inter Milan hasn’t given up on their pursuit of Ademola Lookman. After seeing their initial bid rejected, the Nerazzurri are now preparing a new offer with a higher valuation in hopes of sealing the deal quickly.
Their first offer €40 million was turned down by Atalanta, who are reportedly holding out for €50 million to part ways with the Nigerian forward. Inter, however, are ready to raise their proposal to keep the negotiations moving forward.
According to Corriere della Sera, Inter's new offer will total €43 million plus €2 million in bonuses, bringing the package to around €45 million. The club is hopeful this improved bid will be enough to sway Atalanta and finalize the transfer soon.
Lookman has become a key target for Inter this summer. The 27-year-old attacker is seen as a great fit for Simone Inzaghi’s tactical setup, and his performances with Atalanta especially in European competition have only strengthened Inter’s interest.
Oaktree Capital, Inter’s ownership group, is also involved in the process. They’ve given the green light to increase the budget to help secure Lookman's signature.
The new bid is expected to be submitted within the next day or two. Inter are eager to wrap up the negotiations before the end of the week, aiming to integrate Lookman into the squad as early as possible ahead of the new season.
This swift and determined approach highlights Inter’s ambition to remain competitive at the top, and Lookman is seen as a valuable addition to strengthen their attacking options.
