Chelsea have dismissed recent speculation linking them with a move for Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to The Telegraph journalist Matt Law. While reports from France suggested interest from the Premier League club, Chelsea have made it clear there have been no discussions regarding a potential transfer for the Italian international.
Donnarumma is reportedly looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain after turning down a contract extension, with just one year remaining on his current deal. PSG are now said to be considering selling the goalkeeper rather than risk losing him for free next summer.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Donnarumma’s future in Paris, Chelsea insist they are content with their current goalkeeping setup. Robert Sánchez has established himself as manager Enzo Maresca’s first-choice keeper, delivering steady performances between the posts. Backup duties are expected to fall to Filip Jørgensen, rounding out the club’s goalkeeping options.
Given this stability, bringing in a new goalkeeper is not a priority for the Blues during this transfer window.
While Donnarumma’s situation may attract interest from other clubs in need of a top-tier goalkeeper, Chelsea are not currently in the mix. Instead, they are focusing their transfer efforts on other areas of the squad that align more closely with Maresca’s long-term vision.
