Rumors surrounding Manchester United’s interest in Benjamin Sesko are starting to gain serious traction. The Red Devils are reportedly taking concrete steps to try and land the RB Leipzig striker.
Sesko has become one of the most sought-after names in the summer transfer window. His impressive performances last season with Leipzig have put him firmly on the radar of several top European clubs.
Right now, Manchester United and Newcastle United appear to be the two strongest contenders for his signature, with both sides showing significant interest in the 21-year-old forward.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United have already begun laying the groundwork for a potential move. Talks with Leipzig are said to be underway, and the club has reportedly identified Sesko as their top target for the striker position.
After extensive internal discussions, United's management has now reached out to Leipzig to inquire about Sesko’s availability this summer. They're also beginning to explore the possible transfer fee and payment structure to determine whether a deal is financially viable.
However, Romano cautions that signing Sesko won’t be straightforward.
One major hurdle is United’s current budget situation. The club has already spent a significant portion of its funds on deals for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo earlier this window.
Because of that, Romano notes that United may need to offload a few players in order to raise the necessary funds for Sesko’s transfer.
