Mason Mount has shared a note of optimism for Manchester United fans, expressing confidence that the team is ready to bounce back in the upcoming 2025/2026 season.
Last season was nothing short of disastrous for the Red Devils. The club finished without a single trophy and ended up in 15th place in the Premier League their worst finish in the competition’s history.
Mount openly acknowledged the team’s disappointing performance but emphasized that the squad is determined to turn things around.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Mount didn't shy away from reflecting on the challenges of the previous campaign.
"Last season was incredibly tough for us," Mount admitted. "But we’re now stepping into a new chapter, and we’re determined to play better."
"We want to come together as a team next season. We all know our performance last year wasn’t good enough, and now it’s time to move forward."
Mount also highlighted the importance of this preseason as a foundation for improvement. He stressed that the team needs to put in the work now to be ready for what's ahead.
"We have to look ahead and make the most of this preseason. It's our chance to train hard and address the areas we fell short in last year," he added.
"With the packed schedule and a manager who came in mid-season, this preseason is absolutely crucial for us to reset and make real progress," said the former Chelsea midfielder.
